Alampur: A Study in Early Chalukyan Art

These discoveries establish the Alampur temples to be the proto-types originated and developed by the Chalukyas in their hegemony at Aihole, Pattadakal and Badami in Karnataka, independently of any proximate Gupta influence.

Also, importantly, by the transmission of influences through the political incursions of the Chalukyan kings into the Kalinga territory (historic orissa), its famed temples at Mukhalingam were mediately derived.
