The Anti-Ageing Cook Book

Ageing is the process of growing old. As the body ages, various systems breakdown as the immunity system is impaired resulting in a number of diseases and disorders. Free radicals are formed within our body in normal metabolic processes as well as from the environment (fried foods, high fat foods, excess alcohol, smoking, X-rays, ultraviolet radiations from sun, vehicle exhaust etc.) accelerates ageing process.

The book ‘The Anti-Aging Cook Book’ gives an insight to enhance our body’s own antioxidant defenses with good food. It is however difficult to stop time, but definitely the negative effects of ageing can be stopped with a wholesome diet, good supplements and a good physical activity. There is not yet any wonder drug to prevent ageing and increase life span, but the book says that there are wonder foods, which cannot prevent, but can slow down ageing.

The book provides magic recipes for longevity as they are full of antioxidants which can add years to your life and encourage you to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Dr. G Padma Vijay is a post-graduate in Science, a graduate in education and holds a number of Post-graduate diplomas in diverse fields. A lecturer who had a flair for writing in the field of Gourmet, Diet and Nutrition have culminated in the writing of twenty books on gourmet, quiz, nutrition and diet and also earned her an M.Phil. And Ph.D. Degrees. She was a regular freelance writer for the Diet file column in Femina and also for Times of India supplements. She was a Nutrition Consultant for the Femina’s cookery section for 8 long years. Presently she conducts Workshops on Diet and Nutrition for various ailments at her diet FIT Centre in Mumbai.
