This book is astounding in how much it covers. The poses/breathing practices/gestures and locks are covered comprehensively; from the actual practices, to the benefits (on ALL levels), contraindications etc. As a Satyananda Yoga teacher, I have watched this book develop over many years, and it has gradually built itself up into a brilliant adjunct to a yoga practice. Virtually all my regular students have a copy and refer to it constantly. Whether you are of the Satyananda lineage or not, this is an invaluable reference book and an inspirational read.

This is one of a handful of yoga asana books which I have found truly useful not only in my own asana practice but also in the yoga I share with others. APMB contains potent yoga asana series which are incredibly simple yet work on the most profound energetic level- this is asana in the truest sense of the word! It has clear information on 'beginner' and 'advanced' yoga postures, and gives clear details as to their execution, effects and contra-indications. I have found the effect of the asana series in APMB to be nothing short of miraculous in opening and expanding the experience of asana, the body and so the soul. It is a true yoga-bible.
