Biodynamic Agriculture & Homeopathy

Regarding the strange ways of biodynamic agriculture. The most logical explanation I've ever heard about the why of BD techniques called it "homeopathy of the soil."

If you understand homeopathy and how it functions so splendidly in human and veterinary medicine, you will immediately see the connects to BD preps, their mixing, their application.

In essence, it is vibrational healing; sending the vibrational fingerprint from these organic substances out into the soil, itself a living organism.

BD farming is a fairly labour-intensive organic farming approach which assures long-term soil fertility and health of cattle, and provides good yields with top quality of food produce. Naturally, it cannot do without knowledge and skilful use of other and basic organic farming practices, such as crop rotation, multi-cropping, composting, mulching, green manuring with the aid of legumes, the use of companion plants and trap plants, the use of rock dust.etc. In order to become a successful BD farmer it may not be necessary to comprehend everything that Steiner has said on farming, even though it is very little in quantity. It will be enough to apply the "technique", with skill and commitment, and, if possible, with understanding and love.

Dr. Lucas Dengel a medical doctor by training, has worked on biodynamic farms in Germany. From 1988 onwards he is based in Auroville, Pondicherry. Earlier he worked clinically and as an administrator at the Auroville Health Centre. Since 2000 he is actively involved in ecological farming and environmental work and heads a company Auro Annam.
