Case taking is the most important part of homeopathic professional treatment, and an art, which can decide not only the progress of a patient but the final outcome of the case as well. The book includes topics such as the Organon, Mistakes in Prescribing, Vital Force, Definition of Health, Etiologies, Case Management, and Miasms. Several cases are analyzed throughout the book with] discussions and follow-up. Contains the transcripts of seven, 95-minute audio tapes, practical hints on prescribing and managing the case are given.

The author has given a point-wise approach to case taking punctuated with general discussions on the related subjects and giving invaluable tips all along, making it somewhat revolutionary when compared with accepted notions divulged and applied in the earlier guidelines to case taking. He discusses the 6th edition of Organon in detail highlighting and discussing in depth several important aspects of case taking, viz. Methods of repertoire, Various methods of case taking, Etiology to be looked for during case taking, How to handle AIDS cases, How to treat and manage drug addicts, Gauge reaction to treatments, etc. The author points out the common mistakes a student or practitioner may make in the course of case taking or treatment.

About the Author:

Dr. Robin Murphy was born on August 15, 1950 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He carried out his undergraduate studies at the Michigan State University (1972-1976). There he discovered their homeopathic historical collection and became intrigued with the system and began his studies. In 1976, he entered the National College of Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM). There he was awarded the Hahnemannian Scholarship for his Thesis: Homeopathy and Cancer. While at school he studied with Dr. Ravi Sahni and Dr. John Bastyr.

He directed the homeopathy program at NCNM from 1980-1984. He also taught at Bastyr University. He published the Homeopathic Medical Repertory in 1993 and the Lotus Materia Medica in 1996, which sell like hot cakes even today. He is presently the director of the Lotus /medical Center, located in London, England. LMC sponsors seminars on homeopathy and oriental medicine throughout the world. The Lotus Medical Center has educational programs on Medicine and Homeopathy.
