About the Author:

Dr. Gala graduated as the valedictorian of his medical school class at the University of Michigan. He then went on to complete internship and residency training at the University of Michigan Medical Center. During his residency, Dr. Gala completed a Master of Public Health in health management and policy as a recipient of the prestigious Wilder Penfield Fellowship of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. Following his residency training, Dr. Gala completed a fellowship in complex and minimally invasive spinal surgery at the University of Chicago Hospitals under Dr. Richard G. Fessler, a pioneer in the field.
