The board countours, parameters and the detours of historiographical perception of Orissan history right from the ancient period till the modern has been comprehensively drawn which remained till the present a moreor less explored area. further since the Raj remained, all through the imperial rule in India, the central piece of the British empire, the historiography of the british period in Orissa has been discussed in the backdrop of the multi-dimensional aspects of the perceptions and sensibilities which denote the British attitude to Indian history. The book os a pioneering attempt on Orissan historiography.
About the Author :Dr laxmikanta Mishra, MA (1881). M Phil (1985) was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philisophy in History from Utkal University in the year 2001 for the thesis Before joining Orissa Education Service Class 1in 1987 he taught for sometimes in the Regional College of Education, Bhubaneshwar, and also had undertaken archaeological research at Deccan College, at Cuttack. Dr. Sitakanta Mishra, MA obtained his degree of Doctor of Philosophy from Utkal University, He is presently posted as an officer in the Central Vigilance Commission, New Delhi and regularly contributes research articles on history, culture and society to different journals and magazines.
