Truly there have been not for an eternity anyone so dedicated to the revival and establishment of Vedic wisdom around the world than Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Through his guidence so many lives have been touched directly and indirectly around the world. He has worked silently behind the scenes through vibrational technologies of meditation and yagya. He has helped to establish the beautiful ancient sciences of the Rishis, the product of pure consciousness in each corner of the world. Ayurveda has been restored and revived through his work in this field. Vedic architecture is once again being constructed on each corner of the world through his work in this field. We honour, we bow to, we sincerely offer our grattitude, our love for the work of this gentle monk from the Himalayas. On the 'eve of 5th of February Maharishi has left his worldy existance to return to the source of all.

It's been a lot of fun growing our Ayurvedic section with beautiful titles from all corners of India coming available. We have titles to introduce you to Ayurveda and also those which will take you to it's deepest secrets. We have spent the last months sourcing and selecting rare treasures of Ayurvedic wisdom. A lot of the initial vision of Vedic Books was inspired by Ayurveda's beautiful and powerful healing science and a wish to see this root itself once again on Mother Earth. Not far from Nagpur is the place where Gandhiji spent most of his life, it's a place called Sevagram, village of service. Word's can't easily describe the peace and simplicity of this place but it is surely somewhere everyone should try to visit at least once. Gandhi was a man of action and Truth and simple living. His wisdom is even more relevant today than it has ever been. OUR VERY SPECIAL BOOK OF THE MONTH

Easily my favorite Ayurvedic book that has traveled with me across many journeys at my side. My teacher says that whatever is there in the universe, will be within the pages of the Charaka Samhita. I have found this to be true more and more, each sutra is a thread of wisdom that can be elaborated into an infinity of wisdom. For any serious student of medicine and Ayurveda this is a must read. Take care it's heavy so if you get into the habit of traveling around with it, pack lightly your other possessions! ( Read More... )

LEARN SANSKRIT WITH VEDIC BOOKS...

It might be snowing in Johannesburg, South Africa this month (a very rare occurance indeed!), but if you had a good library of Sanskrit books to study this magical and marvelous language, you would probably not even notice as Sanskrit is a deeply absorbing and transforming subject to study. If you are interested in Yoga, Ayurveda, Vaastu or Jyotish or any other related subject, or just want to read the Bhagavad Gita or Rg Veda as it is, then dive in, find a local teacher, fill your library and learn Sanskrit. They say this language came from the drum of Lord Shiva (pure consciousness). Some Vaidyas used to use it to diagnose, by getting their patients to pronounce the entire alphabet. It is in a nutshell a universe of transforming and enlightening sound. In no outher language on earth is there so much precise spiritual terminology and technology. ( Explore more )
