This work on Lord Ganesha is a valuable contribution to the contemporary literature of the Smartas, Vaishnavas, Shaaktas, Shaivites and Gaanapatyas--in general, all Hindus--and will be especially useful to followers of Smarta tradition. The Smarta Sampradaya has been propagated outside of India primarily through its philosophy of Advaita Vedanta.
