INTERNATIONAL DAY OF DHARMA
The classical Ayurvedic texts mention that one of the most basic medicines is to do what your life purpose (called Dharma in Sanskrit) is and what you truly love doing. Janet and Chris Attwood our dear friends of Vedic Books have declared today "International Passion Day". Janet has worked with helping people to find their true dreams in life and to them bring these dreams into reality. Janet lives in Fairfield, Iowa a beautiful spiritual city founded by Maharishi Mahesh Yoga and presently tours world wide giving seminars on finding your heart's purpose. We are happy to announce the launch of Janet's new site and a beautiful movie (enjoy especially the soundscape that accompanies it!) for all to see.
THE HIDDEN WONDERS OF FLOWERS

"Selfless offerings of love are these flowers"
Flowers express the qualities of love so perfectly that they have been adopted by all cultures to express our deepest feelings. They are there selflessly day and night offering their colour and their fragrance to all. Simply spending time with flowers one can understand the very nature of the inner flowering the Rishis have often equated to a flower opening that we can call enlightenment or illumination. As the flower opens to the sun, so our inner flower should open the God. Next time you see a flower, don't pick it even, let it be there, but take a repose to discover it's essence. You will see it has a message for you. This is the very subject of our feature this month. The hidden message of flowers. There have been many books on this subject but by far our favorite ones are byThe Mother. So sweetly and divinely has she described each flower and it's innate quality. Explore the Mother's wisdom on flowers and other books on flowers. Ayurveda also has used flowers for thousands of years for it's most prescious preparations.
AN ODE TO ORGANIC FARMING

Rishis have taught that our physical bodies are composed of the food we eat. Not just it's substance but it's consciousness becomes what we are. The body is the vehicle of the soul and if it is vibrant and radient, the light of the gem (the soul) can shine forth in it's true expression of Truth, Bliss, and Eternal Awareness. In the times of the Rishis food was what it was, there was no adulteration of it's seed (such as genetic modification) and no adulteration of it's growth. In Sanskrit the consciousness in the plant is called Chetana. If we eat vibrant, conscious plants, our very consciousness is further developed. Each and every person should take the time and effort to support organic food. Organic means free of poison and full of prana. When foods are prepared with poison then loose their very vitality. Please take some time to browse our organic offerings and you are always welcome to leave us feedbacks sharing your organic stories and how organic food has helped you and your life.

ONLY IN INDIA

Only in India does one find a post office named after a great yoga master and Siddha. Patanjali was the father of Yoga and gave us his illustrious yoga sutras amongst many many other great contribution (some recognized and other not attributed to him yet). Patanjalipuri is a small village in Tamil Nadu and this is it's post office. The name means fullness of Patanjali. We bow to Patanjali, may he be honoured by all.
VEDIC BOOKS AT THE END OF THE EARTH!
It is not every day we get to see our books being read in Antarctica and we're proud to share with you that a small parcel of our books is presently being read avidly in the South African base camp of Antarctica. Anton who is pictured here very kindly sent us a picture of him in the snow, not too far from the south pole. We must say this is the most far we have seen any of our books travel from Mother India and also the most remote place.
