Philosophy for a New Civilisation

This book is an invitation to another kind of philosophy - not abstract, dry and indifferent to life, but compassionate, holistic, caring and guiding life. Basically, it is a book about a philosophy which may change your life, if you take it seriously.

We don't have to follow the dictates of the stupefying technological system. We are free people. The human race is not forlorn and doomed. We can make the world a fair place to live, for all of us. But we need to think deeper, with consequences, and while inspired by our ultimate destinies. We need to transcend the plethora of plastic gadgets, insatiable greed, and the paranoia of fear that paralyze us. We can do it.

We are proposing a New Logos for a New Civilization. The dawn of a New civilization is on the horizon. But we have to help it to arise. This work will be of value to scholars, philosophers and all searching people who believe that a better, saner and more coherent world is possible.

About the Author:

Educated in Warsaw and Oxford (D.Phil. from New College, 1964). Skolimowski has been actively engaged in healing the planet for the last 30 years. He is the creator of Eco-philosophy (as well as the author of several books on the subjects), and Director of the Eco-Philosophy Center. He has lectured widely around the world.

In recent years he expanded the scope of Eco-philosophy Center. He has lectured widely around the world. In recent years he expanded the scope of Eco-Philosophy to include spirituality as the most important vehicle for saving the world the world and preserving human sanity and dignity. He published over 40 books and about 500 articles. He is Professor Emeritus of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He has been interacting with the Indian culture for over two decades and published three books in India.
