A beautiful reference to Ayurvedic preparations known as classical formuale. In South India many of the preparations are made according to the recipe in Sahasrayogam. The title literally means 1000 formuales or yogas. Many of the popular medicines like Kshirabala Thailam or Anu Thailam are listed here and many no longer in preparation. The recipes are listed in Sanskrit text then a translation is given explaining the ingredients, procedure and the indications for the medicine. A good knowledge of Sanskrit or alternatly access to a Sanskrit-English Ayurvedic dictionary is required. Vibrationally the book is very beautiful as it holds the recipes from many corners of India compliled in this popular text.
