Studies in the Natyasastra attempts to present all aspects of the performance of Sanskrit Drama of the classical period. For this, the material available in the Natyasastra and other works on dramaturgy, sculptural evidence and the traditions of classical-dance-drama styles in the various parts of the country are made use of. The book will, in fact, be of great use to the scholar inteested in the technique of the production of Sanskrit plays. Dr. G.H.Tarlekar, born at Tarale (Maharashtra) in 1914 was educated at Kohlapur. He got his M.A. in Sanskrit and M.A in Hindi from Bombay and Banaras Hindu Universities respectively. He secured Ph.D. in Sanskrit from Poon University. He was Asstt. Professor/Professor of Sanskrit in M.J.College, Jalgaon and S.S.v.P.S.`s Art & Commerce College, Dhule.He has written a number of books and articles on Indian music, Sanskrit drama.
