The Great Ramayana is one of the two great epics of Ancient India, the other being the Mahabharata. As the name suggests, the Ramayana is the life-story of Rama and it was originally written in Sanskrit by Maharishi Valmiki. However, it was the saint-poet Tulsidas who wrote the story of Rama in Hindi and in poetic form and made Ramayana a household name in every Hindu family in India. His book is called Ramcharitmanas. 

 

The Great Mahabharata has been an integral part of India culture and civilization. This unique scripture contains more than one lakh shlokas and so it is counted among the greatest epics of the World. The epic was originally written in Sanskrit by Maharishi Ved Vyasa about 5000 years ago. It has been translated retold in many languages of the World. Since its origin, Mahabharat has been a source of Indian philosophy and spiritualism
