Vedic Foundations of Indian Sastric Tradition

Vedic literature has played a pivotal role in the development of Indian Sastric traditions. The traditions of Agama and Nigama went hand in hand together and various systems of Indian philosophy continued to depend upon them for authentication of various speculations and innovations. The proceedings of seminar on "Vedic foundations" of Indian Sastric Traditions" present in depth studies in the origin of various concepts in Nyaya, Mimamsa, Vyakarana and Alankara sastra. They also reveal the glimpses of their continuous growth for three milleniums.

DR. RADHA VALLBH TRIPATHI is presently working as Professor and Head of the Department of Sanskrit, Dr. Hari Singh Gour University of Sagar. He has Published 120 research papers and 75 books, and has completed a number of research projects. He specialises in Natyasastra and Sahityasastra.Dr. Tripathi has received 17 awards, mostly of National level, including M.M. P.V. Kane Memorial Gold Medal of Asiatic Society, Bombay (for best research research work of 1995) and the Sahitya Akademi Award of 1994 for creative writing in Sanskrit.
