About the Author:

Mahadev Chakravarti, a scholar of Modern History, did his thesis on Saiva in Ancient India. He is now Reader and In-Charge, Department of Modern History, Calcutta University Post-Graduate Centre, Agartala, Tripura. He has contributed many valuable papers in scholarly journals and seminars.
