This volume contains papers presented in a two-day national seminar on "Oral Literature of North-East India with Special Reference to Arunachal Pradesh", sponsored by Sahitya Academy, Baroda and organised by the Department of Tribal Studies, Arunachal Univertsity. Tamo Mibang is the ProVice Chancellor and former head of the department of Tribal Studies, Arunachal University. He also holds the post of Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences in the same University. He obtained his Master`s Degree in History from Gauhati University in 1977 and Ph.D. from dibrugarh University in 1988. Sarit kumar Chaudhari was associated with Anthropological Survey of India between October, 1988 and Sep "95. He has worked among diverse tribes such as the Toto, Birhor, Lodha and the Kharia of West Bengal; the Konda Reddi and Savara of Andhra Pradesh;
