ABOUT THE BOK:In this book an attempt has been made to show princely India as it appeared to some of those who lived and worked within the confines of the Indian States. Texts are drawn entirely from the sopken recollections of eye-witnesses, including a number of ex-rulers, a larger number of yuvrajs or heirs-apparant brought up in the expectations of ruling in their turn, members of earstwhile ruling families, former Dewans or Chief Ministers, and other state servants etc. In all recollections of 286 such eyewitnesses are recorded in this study. An absorbing book tracing the intricate threads of Indian kingship, Hindu Mughal and Sikh kingdoms which long strove against each other.
