This is the first of a series of books based on 'Public Talks' of Swami Dayananda on two different topics. The first topic, 'How to live intelligently', is an aspiration of all individuals. Swamiji claims that living intelligently requires one to recognize the presence of Isvara . Only when one finds oneself connected to Isvara , one becomes pragmatic. He claims that, in the final analysis, this understanding does not involve bringing Isvara into one's life but in discovering that Isvara is already there in all aspects of one's life.
The second topic highlights the importance of 'The need for cognitive change' on the part of an individual to live effectively. The present day society with its intense competition has led to progress in one hand but also has resulted in many complexities. In order to meet the challenges of life, one needs to understand life and its meaning differently. Swamiji iterates that the study of Vedanta enables one to initiate cognitive change in several areas to the extent that one finally discovers that 'I am the whole'.
