This work in its English version has been an outstanding and much appreciated exposition of the divine and immortal work. This book is somewhat new, as in includes two additional and valuable appendices at the end of the commentary on the Gita. The first appendix entitled, "A bird's eye view of the Gita" is a summarized essence of the scripture, highlighting its core and offering a version for quick comprehension and ready reference. The second appendix, covers the traditional and other suggested "Methods of Recitation of the Gita,” to help devotees to seek and achieve spiritual benefit of the worship, through the Gita.

Srimad Bhagavadgita holds an incomparable and unique position in world literature. It recalls the divine voice of Lord Krishna, through which many of His mysteries and inner secrets are revealed. In communicating these for the benefit of mankind, the Lord has invoked Arjuna, as an interlocutor or questioner. The small book, full of the Lord’s extraordinary thoughts and views from the very heart, was never excelled in the past, nor would ever be, in the future.

This is an excellent commentary on Gita by Swamiji. Most revered Swami Ramsukhdasji has searched out many secret and valuable jewels of spiritual ideas from this unfathomable sea of Bhagavadgita and has very kindly given for the welfare of householders and the public at large studying which they may easily attain highest bliss. Revered Swamiji has written this commentary not for pro-founding any philosophical view-point or for show of his erudition but he has made this fine endeavor for the spiritual benefit of the practicing strivers.

About the Author:

Swami Ramsukhdas explained various Indian religious books in simple language for the benefit of common man for the last more than 80 years. And of course they were emulated by lakhs of people. He also propagated pure worship. About two crore copies of over 100 books authored by him, have been sold across the country. His simple explanation of Shrimad Bhagavat Gita, published under the title, Sadhak Sanjivani, influenced crores of people across the world.

Despite being so popular and great, he never allowed himself to be photographed on camera. Not only this, he never allowed people to touch his feet, worship him, become his disciple. He never accepted any gift, collected fund or established any ashram. Rather he advised people to pay more attention to the worship of God. That is why his photograph is not available today. He also said that one?s pure conduct in daily life was the best way to worship the God. Swami Ramsukhdas had been associated with Gita Press, Gorakhpur for the last 70 years.

Most of his discourses were based on the Gita. He was worried over the declining population of Hindus in the country. He had been staying in Swargashram of Rishikesh since the year 2002 following sickness and growing age. He used to deliver discourse in morning and evening at the Ashram everyday. He delivered his last discourse on June 29. Paying his tributes Swami Satyamitranand of Bharatmata Mandir, Haridwar, described Swami Ramsukhdas as the greatest saint of the saint tradition of the country after Swami Ramkrishan Paramhansa.

Review by Mahesh Dhruv: Friday 24 June, 2011
To all individuals, It is not less than a bliss for me to know that this book is now available in english. For years I have been reading this book in Gujarati language of India.I understand that what He,the Almighty wants to convey us is told by Himself in Srimad Bhagvad Gita and Swami Ramsukhdasji has tried in this book to make these teachings easily acceptable for our own benefits.Having heard swamiji and having read his books I just salute to every person who may just utter swamijis name from his mouth. For understanding the purpose of human life I strongly and kindly suggest to start reading this book right from this very moment. If by any chance you do not any of the languages this book is available,I AS YOUR WELL WISHER sugget to learn one of these languagesand start reading this book.I am sure that on completion of this book you would like to translate it in your native language for the benefits of your community.I believe that all possible blessing of God to entire mankind are in the form of this book.
