About the Author:

Dr. Bimalendu Mohanty, after completing his MA (History) from Ravenshaw College, Cuttack, obtained the Degree of M.Ed from Missourie University (USA) and PH.D. Degree from Ranchi University.  Joined as Lecturer in Stewarts Science Colleg, Cuttack, then served as Youth Welfare Officer, Utkal University, as whole - time N.C.C. Officer in Major's rank in the Ministry of Defence and then took up assignment of Dean, Students Welfare, Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar. 

Dr. Bimalendu Mohanty was associated as Member, Academic Council of the University and also as Member of Senate and Syndicate of the Utkal University for many years.  He also served, in the inter-regnum, as Deputy programme Adviser, N.S.S. Ministry of Education and Culture, Govt. of India and Registrar, Xaviers Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar.  He then served under Government of Orissa as Director, Sports and youth SErvices and Director, Culture - both in the rank of Additional Secretary and then Director, State Resource Centre in Adult Education, Bhubaneswar, and Officer on Special Duty, Culture Department, Govt. of Orissa to set up a Culture University, before he was elevated to the office of the first Vice-Chancellor, Utkal University of Culture at Bhubaneswar.
