Gupta Civilization fills up the lacuna of the social and economic history of the period to a great extent. This work is based on original sources such as inscriptions, coins, sculptures, Architectural remains, Buddhist and Jain Works, pre-contemporary and post Kalidasa Sanskrit works including Puranas the contemporary foreign pilgrims Fa-hein, Yuan-Chwang and I-Tsingh. It contains the rarest sculptures (study) of Shrimati & Shri L.K. Jha's collection and authors own findings in Jammu Province.
