The book aims to uphold the secular Tradition of Gandhian and Nehruvian legacy. This succeeds in countering the mistaken view prevalent in some sections of the political elite, intelligensia and middle-class in the country that Nehruvian secularism is anti-religious or irreligious and hence alien to the cultural ethos of our country. This also exposes the philosophical barrenness and intellectual bankruptcy in the concept of Hindutva and shows how secularism is rooted in the dharma tradition of the land as exemplified by the Ashoka`s Dharma-Chakra adorning the centre of Indian National Flag. O.N.krishnan is an electrical engineer by profession and technocrat. He has developed a deep and abiding interest in Indian Philosophy and Gandhian Thoughts. He is committed to the comperative studies of Buddhist and Hindu scriptures. He is the author of the book "In Search of reality - A Layman`s Journey through Indian Philosophy" published by the renouned Indological publishers, Motilal Banarasidass publishers, Delhi, and also another one "The Bhagavadagita and Buddhism" (Under Publication).
