The principal aim of this quarterly was to publish articles, notes, etc., dealing with Indian history and civilization. The first issue of the journal appeared in 1925 and it was unfortunately abandoned with the publication of two issues in 1963. The quarterly dealt mainly with archaeology, art and architecture, religion and philosophy, epics and Puranas, epigraphy and numismatics, grammar and linguistics, history of India and the world, law, polity and administration, literature, science, social and economic institutions and so on.
