The botanical and common names in English and all major Indian vernacular languages, the distribution, propagation, parts used, chemical constituents and their uses along with their photographs are given for each of the medicinal plant species, making this book a handy reference. Some of the medicinal plants being marked as vulnerable, endangered, endemic, rare, near threatened and those facing extinction, would motivated us to save and preserved these invaluable gifts of nature.
About the Author:
Moshrafuddin Ahmed, Vica Principal and Head, Department of Botany, Goalpara College, Assam, had his B.Sc. (Hons), M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Gauhati University. He has 37 years of teaching experience. He has 62 research papers published in the fields of soil microbiology, food microbiology, environmental Science and ethno-botany. He has authored a book Applied Microbiology. She has been conducting short-term courses and summer schools on environmental issues and is actively engaged in several government projects.
