This book is a study of the people of three native states Punjab, North West Frontier province and Kashmir. The similarities among the people of these three states, inspite of the inevitable blurring of boundary lines, form a fairly clean cut geographical unit. The Author has done his homework before compiling this volume. His account of the physiography, the flora and fauna, the people and the administration during his thirty five years stay in the services of North West India is undoubtedly accurate and well proportional.
