About the Author: Dr. Bhagwant Sahai, former Head of Deptt. of Ancient Indian History and Archaeology, Patna University, Patna is an eminent Art Historian and Indologist. He has a meritorious academic record. He has authoured several books along with more than 100 research papers published in different research journals. Some of his well acclaimed work are “Iconography of minor Hindu and Buddhist Deities” published in 1975 and Inscriptions of Bihar published in 1983. He was Chief Editor of the Journal of the Bihar Puravid Parishad and has the credit to edit its volume from II to XVII-XVIII. Recipient of prestigious Senior Fellowship from Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi. Dr. Sahai has recently authored Buddhist Images from Bihar: An Iconographic Study.
