The Witty Tenali Rama

The 16th century Telugu poet, Tenali Rama, also known as Vikata Kavi, was a court jester at Vijayanagar Empire, who gained popularity for his wit and prodigious poetry. He was one of the eight most prized poets of Raja Krishnadeva, who was known for his gift of gab and quick wit. He is also known for his stern and sarcastic remarks that put many conceited men to shame. With this collection, the young readers would get to read a lot of interesting tales of the Krishnadeva and Tenali Rama duo.

Dr. Mona Gupta is the academic leader of the mental health and medicine program of the Women's Mental Health Program at Women's College Hospital, where she serves as a staff psychiatrist. She is a research scientist at the WCRI and a lecturer at the department of psychiatry of the University of Toronto.
