Author's advice in page 33 on correlation of direction to planet could be wrong. The south zone is ruled by Mars/Lord Yama and NOT Saturn. The east zone by the Sun NOT Mars. The West zone is ruled by Saturn NOT Mercury. Your Southwest zone which is left without a ruler and conveniently substituted with the effect "Prithvi Tatwa", is actually ruled by Rahu. I have checked with a few astrologers on this and welcome the author's explanation. Is it a careless typo error Or is there a logical explanation to the author's deviation from common beliefs in Vastu offered by other Vastushastra practitioners? To achieve harmony in the Southwest, the authors are NOT consistent - in some cases, yellow stones are advised, and in others, black stones: in fengshui black & yellow relate to water and earth respectively - each with very distintive qualties. Furthermore, earth absorbs water - so which is it for the SW? Also, only black and white diagrams and charts inside are confusing, as there is no color to help differentiate and clarify sections that are explained.
