Sri Raghavendra Tirtha was a great saint philosopher of 16th-17th century. He wrote more than 25 works of great spiritual and philosophical value. This is the composition of Sri Raghavendra Tirtha as a commentary on Bhagwad Gita. the main purpose of this composition is to put at one place the main interpretations and meanings of Bhagwad Gita as given in the different works of Sri Madhvacharya and his followers. Sri Raghavendra Tirtha excels in making a very succinct presentation of the meanings and the interpretations of the different slokas of Bhagwad Gita.Sri Raghavendra Tirtha presents the thematic structure of Bhagavad Gita as follows:--"Bhagwad Gita is the essence of the entire Mahabharata. It has eighteen cantos. In the first six cantos, the meaning of Knowledge and its contents are presented. In the second set of six cantos, the methodology of acquiring Knowledge is explained. In the last set of six cantos, further elaboration of whatever has been stated earlier, is given."
