Ramayana presents to us in a poetic form a national event of Ancient India. This translation by M.N. Dutt is very lucid in reading, but the editor has given his own translation in some places. The old uses of English terms haven been transfered in the modern English method. Dr. Ramashraya Sharma, an authority on Ramayana has contributed an elaborated introduction and the index of verses at the end of the volume is very useful for researchers and layman both.
