The present volume constitutes a critical edition and translation into English of the first three chapters,the Upodghata,the Sadvidhaprakarana and the Kuttakadhikara of the Sanskrit commentary.This is the first edition and first translation of this work.The edition of this portion of the text,which constitutes about one third of the Suraprakasha,is a large step toward an edition of the entire commentary.About The AuthorDr.Pushpa Kumari Jain,Department of Mathematics and Statistics,Simon Fraser University,Burnaby,British Columbia,Canada,is an outstanding scholar of Sanskrit and Mathematics.Her deep study critical acumen are reflected in the present volume which not only contains the critically edited Sanskrit text but also the scholarly introduction and English translation.
