The very attempt made to make a book on the great sage 'Yajnavalkya' is highly commendable. I am keen to see how the smriti of those times could be of importance to today's code of human conduct. As per the Yajnavalkya Smriti, the Dharma is classified into - (1) Aachara; [Customs] (2) Vyaavahaara;[Practice] (3) Praayaschitya [Remedial]. Even Civil Procedure and Criminal Procedure Code has also been drafted by and large on those lines. But much reliance has not been given to Customs rather to Practices.
