The book is an excellent research work in the field of astrology and marks a significant departure from the mere transliteration of the books on the same subject. Very compreshensive in its depth with over 50 real life horoscopes. The aspects discussed with respect to travel abroad include foreign deputation, settling down, marriage abroad, medical treatment abroad, diplomatic services etc. These well researched aspects can even be applied to the horoscopes of the people living here in America, if applied flexibly.
Thus to quote Sh.K.N.Rao," It is here that the principle of the interpretation of a horoscope on the basis of desh, kaal, and paatra (the country, the time and the personal background of the consultor) must come into play. If that is done, all the principles given here in the book with illustrations, which are profuse and brilliant will apply. The book even contains Sh.Rao's own research papers which include :(a) Air hostesses joining foreign duties. (b) Planets take them accross the seas - Four parts. (c) Will I settle down abroad professionally? About the Author: From relative obscurity in 1990, K.N. Rao has become one of the leading Jyotish astrologers. He is the retired Director General of the Indian office of the Comptroller and Auditor General, with a life-long interest in astrology, which he learned from his mother. He calls astrology the super-science of the new age. He directs The Astrology School at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, New Delhi. He is a prolific writer. He believes deeply in research that brings solid results. He is unafraid of redefining ancient Vedic scriptures for modern times. He eagerly seeks out obscure techniques, and, once he has tested them to his satisfaction, adds them to his ever-growing rapture. He is challenging & surprising. He is also cranky & apt to tell a fool what he really thinks of him (and in print, to boot), a fault which I think we should forgive.
