In the introductory note of this English translation of the original Gujarati book 'Prarthana ane Udgaro' Champaklal writes:
This is not poetry, it is not song either, these are only my inner being's utterances. I have not written them, the Supreme Mother and Lord have made me write them. Whatever I have had to say I have said in these lines.
About the Aurthor:
Champaklal was the devoted personal attendant to Sri Aurobindo and The Mother for over fifty years. He arrived at Pondicherry on 1921. From 1926 until 1938he was the only other person apart from the Mother to see Sri Aurobindo.
While his service to Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, helping devotees seeking the Mother's blessings, and various other tasks, took up much of his time, he still find time to paint, and he was encouraged in this by the Mother.
